ABOUT ME:
Growing up, I was surrounded by adventurers. My dad spent much of his 20s backpacking across the globe, while my grandfather lived in Antarctica in the 1960s, studying the weather. From an early age, I joined my father on numerous trips, including expeditions with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School), as well as our own adventures. These experiences exposed me to the environmental challenges our world faces, but they also opened my eyes to the spiritual and philosophical teachings my father studied. I grew up immersed in a blend of perspectives, fostering both a deep respect for the environment and empathy for people from all walks of life.
On the other hand, my mother was an artist, a creative soul who worked across various mediums. She ran her own photography studio, and some of my earliest memories involve accompanying her to work, watching *Star Wars* and Disney classics on VHS while she captured moments in the studio. As I grew older, these two worlds—adventure and creativity—began to merge. I became not only an avid explorer but also a student of the arts, inheriting my mom's creative spirit.
At 19, I embarked on a three-month journey through South America. Though I returned with few photographs, I brought back a treasure trove of memories and stories. I felt disappointed in my ability to capture the world through my lens and vowed to improve. During that trip, I discovered the work of Steve McCurry, whose photography has profoundly influenced my style. His ability to convey emotion and culture in a single frame continues to inspire me.
Since that journey, I’ve grown as a photographer with every trip, honing my craft and finding my voice. My goal is to inspire a love for the world and its people, one frame at a time.
